2015 Program Overview – Approved Budget

Purpose
The purpose of the Shelter Program is to provide shelter to stray dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center and to provide redemption and adoption services to the residents of Franklin County can be reunited with their lost dogs or adopt a new dog that is sprayed or neutered.

Services
Dog adoptions, community education sessions and public relations services, redemptions, stray dog drop offs, owner surrenders, lost and found reporting, identification traces, foster program, dog license sales, euthanasia and animal disposal, sterilization surgeries, routine and preventive veterinary care, rabies quarantines and preparation of animals for rabies testing, low cost spay/neuter program, senior assistance program; stay at home foster program.

Linkage to Core Principle
To provide canine education and law enforcement services as described in Ohio Revised Code Section 955 to the residents of Franklin County so that they can live free from the dangers and nuisances of uncontrolled dogs.
