2012 Program Overview – Approved Budget

Purpose
The purpose of the Animal Shelter program is to provide housing, medical care, sterilization and adoption services for impounded dogs so that members of the community can retrieve their lost dog or adopt a dog. In addition the shelter offers a variety of outreach programming that prevents dogs from entering the shelter system.

Services
Dog adoptions, community education sessions and public relations services, redemptions, stray dog drop offs, owner surrenders, lost and found reporting, identification traces, foster program, dog license sales, euthanasia and animal disposal, sterilization surgeries, routine and preventive veterinary care, rabies quarantines and preparation of animals for rabies testing, low cost spay/neuter program, senior assistance program; stay at home foster program.
